Class Field trip
Once a year each class organizes a field trip. Popular destinations include: Detroit Institute of Art, Cranbrook Science Museum. They may also choose to go rollerblading, bowling or ice skating. This creates an additional opportunity for students, teachers and parents to socialize outside of the classrooms.
Curriculum night
The curriculum night is held one week prior the first day of school. Parents are informed about the learning content and special features of the lessons. School books and materials are distributed on this day.

German library
Visits to the well-equipped German library enriches the program. The library offers a large variety of recent publications of books, games, audio books, and German DVD’s and provides opportunities to experience the German language in a variety of ways. The majority of books are part of the German based “Antolin” reading program which DSB students have access to during enrollment. The newest addition are “Tonies” to support the imagination and the listening skills.

School picnic
Each school year in May, the famous “DSB school picnic” takes place. This event gives families, faculty and the DSB Team the opportunity to meet in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The event is organized by a team of parents & Admin and is always very popular. German brats, salads, dessert buffets, and, of course, the craft table, are not to be missed at this event!
